Attwood Corporation, a Brunswick Company, is the world's leading manufacturer of marine accessories for the boating industry, including a wide range of seating, hardware, fuel systems, navigational lighting, pumps, and other electro-mechanical components.
This position will support the development of MotorGuide Trolling Motors and Attwood Marine Products which are developed and launched in our Lowell, MI facility.
A leading candidate for this position will be passionate in their desire to facilitate Attwood's mission of: Making life on the water safer and easier to enjoy.
We are seeking Engineering Co-ops to join our engineering team in Lowell, MI. Responsibilities of this position varies depending on your area of concentration each semester. These concentrations and responsibilities will include:
Test Lab Engineering Co-op
· Mentorship from seasoned Lab Technicians
· Assist in incoming and receiving tests
· Assist in product validation
· Test and analyze products and system data
· Execute test plans for product validation
· Design and fabricate test fixtures
Design Engineering Co-op
· Mentorship from seasoned Mechanical Engineers
· Concept and design mechanical components used in Attwood products
· Building, testing, and analyzing system data
· On-water product testing
· Design and 3D modeling for new and current product
· Participate in team prototype builds
· Fabricate prototype components or test fixtures utilizing a drawing or other instruction

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates will be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, PDM or a related field and 2+ years of higher education is preferred. Candidates must have:
· Good interpersonal skills
· The ability to coordinate numerous projects in a professional and ethical manner
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred
· Hands on, hand and power tools experience is preferred
· Boating, fishing and/or marine industry experience is beneficial but not required.
