Introduction:

  • Compliance to relevant Group Data Strategy, Policy and Standards
  • Delivering a structured approach to the analysis, resolution, reporting and measurement of metadata and data lineage
  • Stakeholder management supporting the wider group data agenda

What will you be doing?

The role will involve working in a Governance team where you will support the associated governance activities of the Group CDO. You will bring a background in Controls ,Reporting and Data Lineage

  • Build Subject Matter expertise across all aspects of Data Lineage within Barclays, including lineage modelling and tooling.
  • Help define the Data Lineage Standard, Guidelines and Operating Model that inform the creation and management of Data Lineage within the firm.
  • Support enhancements to Data Lineage Tooling and associated infrastructure
  • Help define and support implementation of the Data Lineage modelling ruleset
  • Support the firm's Data Lineage Lead and the wider team in the governance of Data Lineage
  • Work with Data Lineage Stewards to understand challenges in relation to Data Lineage
  • Understand and support the improvement of the Data Lineage creation & maintenance Process
  • Support capture and tracking of escalation items and issues stemming from Business Unit/Function CDOs, and help drive their remediation
  • Support the governance framework used to monitor Group CDO and Business Unit/Function CDO compliance with the Data Lineage Control Statements, understanding any breaches and ensuring a timely return to compliance
  • Data Analysis, Reporting software packages (including QlikView, Business Data Portal (BDP)) and strong experience in the development of Management Information and Reporting suites, best practices and patterns.

What we're looking for:

  • Experienced with Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and preferably Barclays Data Portal
  • Experienced in Data Lineage/ Governance
  • Proven ability to build and maintain visually rich and informative presentation templates
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders across the organisation
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks
  • Ability to work on many tasks in parallel

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Experience in drafting procedural / policy documentation
  • Be comfortable to lead and work independently on specified tasks and topics
  • Be focused on adhering to and maintaining control around governance processes
  • Be able to communicate freely across all related stakeholders both verbally and in writing
