As an Associate Software Engineer in our Hybrid-Operate group, you’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading professionals across diverse industries.

Work you’ll do

As an Associate Software Engineer, you will work internal teams to enhance and customize Deloitte’s technology assets to address the needs of our clients. You will be required to research, collaborate, and report out on risks and mitigating factors associated with software development. The position provides an excellent opportunity to:

  • Analyze and implement user requirements/business needs as new and/or enhanced product functionality
  • Design, code, test, and document software code
  • Assist in the packaging and delivery of finished software products to clients
  • Communicate with technical and business leaders on business requirements, system-related capabilities, programming progress, and enhancement status
  • Assist in supporting the client by providing technical product support to them, help them configure the application in their environment, help debug issues, etc.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the hosted products and environments
  • Learn new technologies and help the team implement them in our products
  • Facilitate use of technology-based tools or methodologies to analyze, design, and/or implement products and services
  • Build and nurture positive working relationships with clients with the intention to exceed client expectations

The desired candidate for this role is analytical and detail oriented, with a strong drive to learn new technologies. They will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and while they will be team oriented, they will also be able to work independently as needed.

The team

We are a growing team of geographically dispersed Developers and Technology professionals. You will be working directly with senior level team members that are assigned to one or more technology asset, with the focus on enhancement or customization to meet the needs of our clients. Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
  • A strong understanding of Windows and Linux/Ubuntu based server operating systems.
  • Good understanding and/or experience working with Relational Database Management Systems and No-SQL database technologies like Microsoft SQL server and MongoDB
  • General experience working with programming languages like JavaScript (TypeScript or ECMAScript 7+), Python, C#, Java, etc.
  • Travel up to 25% may be required, dependent on role and location
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred:

  • Strong academic track record (GPA of 3.2 or above)
  • Relevant work experience (e.g., internships, summer positions, school jobs)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools. Good to have experience in building and maintaining fully automated Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines in Microsoft Azure DevOps, GitHub, JIRA, or other similar technologies
  • Experience working with at least one of the JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Ext JS, Angular or React)
  • Exposure to developing cloud-based applications in a micro-services architecture would be a plus
  • Exposure to public cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
  • Real world software development experience including good working experience and/or understanding of different software design patterns and Object Oriented Programming principals
