Position Summary

The Immunology, Cardiovascular and Fibrosis Thematic Research Center (ICF TRC) is focused on discovering and developing novel therapeutics to treat inflammatory, cardiovascular, and fibrotic diseases. The Translational Early Development group within the ICF-TRC is seeking a creative, thoughtful, and highly motivated immunologist to join our vibrant and cohesive team. Together, we will generate hypotheses for patient segmentation, develop critical assays to evaluate target engagement and pharmacodynamics of our new drugs in patients, and provide a better understanding of target biology in disease.

The qualified candidate is a highly motivated, interactive, and creative translational scientist.  The successful candidate will provide pathology and assay development support for pathology biomarker plans, with an ultimate focus on novel targets for autoimmune diseases.

Key Responsibilities

·Preparation of human primary cell samples

·Run flow cytometry and cell-based assays.

·Molecular biology experiments such as DNA, RNA preparation and PCR

·Execute and interpret experiments independently

·Participate in multidisciplinary projects and teams and integrate cross-functional information.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum BS with 5 years applied experience or MS with 1-2 years applied experience (industry preferred)
• Thorough knowledge of experimental design, and technical laboratory skills (including cell culture, immunoassays, protein signaling, qPCR technology platforms, flow cytometry) together with an ability to interpret results
• Demonstrated ability to handle several projects at any given time and to work successfully and collaboratively on teams
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present data
• Willingness to work in a fast paced highly collaborative cross functional research team environment
