We are seeking a highly motivated, goal-oriented candidate to join our Upstream Technology Development R&D team as an Associate Scientist. The successful candidate will leverage their technical mastery to lead the screening of new bio-active materials for in-vivo performance potential as well as lead the method development to deliver new skin science discoveries, insights and assets to drive business value.

We are looking for a candidate who has strong experimental proficiency in bioscience, works with a sense of urgency and a passion to drive the skin care business.Technical curiosity and effective collaboration skills will be key working across the Beauty Technology team as well as with other R&D partners such as Global Biosciences, Analytical, Clinical and Safety.This role will also have responsibilities in managing a variety of multi-tiered biochemical assays, such as but not limited to cell viability, ELISA, protein determination assay, collagen synthesis and melanin quantification.In this role, one will have the opportunity to influence others with their strategic thinking as well as impact the business through the sharing of ideas and technical possibilities. This candidate will also have the potential for external impact via publication co-authorship, IP filings as well as global networking across the academic domain and internally.

Qualifications

We are looking for a strong candidate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, BioMedical Sciences/Engineering or other BioScience related fields.

• Technical Mastery: Strong capabilities of laboratory techniques (especially procedural biological based assays, complex titrations etc), data collection and interpretation. Fluency in method development and experimental design is a plus.
• Technical Leadership: The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and execution of technical learning plans in support of the project direction and strategies. Additionally, capable of determining priorities at any given time, defining the right work and delivering results in a timely manner. Written/oral communication skills to summarize data and share insights in an engaging way, will be essential to driving impact.
• Growth Mindset: Works with agility yet focus and has strong organizational discipline. Looking internally and externally for inspiration and isn't afraid to try new approaches to learn.

• Previous experience in skin science or the Beauty industry, microscopy and immunostaining are a plus!
