Provides Product Development support and subject matter expertise for Cox Business’s Internet products. Responsible for sub-elements or features of a product portfolio's lifecycle which may include: launch, customer experience, financial and operating metrics, enhancement priorities and product roadmaps. Has a general knowledge of Internet protocols, wireless technologies, IP addressing, and hybrid fiber coax networks. Passionate and driven to effect change and/or enhancements to satisfy customer needs and optimize the customer experience through product innovation and/or process improvements. Able to identify Key Performance Indicators and correlate them to product performance issues. Typically assigned to smaller, less complex projects and may provide support for larger projects/assignments as necessary. Will work closely with more senior product managers on the same team to develop new product ideas. Partners with cross-functional teams and stakeholders on ideas and solutions that impact operational results.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Delivers expected outcomes throughout product development and product launch.
Ability to work closely and collaboratively with Engineering and Technology boundary partners and drive results
Ideates new product ideas and assists with the development and documentation of product plans and roadmaps which aligns with customer needs, market and competitive trends and corporate strategy.
Translates product plan and roadmap into clear and defined business requirements to drive functional specifications and technical requirements.
Provides product support to cross functional project teams, by providing product subject matter expertise and taking ownership of appropriate workstreams.
Monitors developments within the industry, vendor community and technology trends and considers these in light of product roadmaps.
Member of cross-functional project teams to support the product lifecycle.
Guides and support cross-functional teams to move ideas through a project funnel from ideation through deployment as the champion and owner of the initiative.
Developing as an employee with respect to project development, team interactions, business insights and product development and management.
Identifies customer expectations and unmet needs with product and services and works with team leaders to create solutions that address gaps and enhances the customer experience.
Analyzes customer, business and product performance metrics and interprets underlying drivers to translate into data-based recommendations.
Assists with the development business cases which define the product value proposition to support product and services roadmap investments, in collaboration with business partners.
Facilitates communication amongst project leaders, peers and relevant department and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment and awareness of current product state and vision.
Qualifications:
Minimum
2 years of experience preferred in Technology related field
Demonstrates strong technical knowledge, ability to quickly grasp new concepts and explain in simple terms to a wide range of people
Passionate about the customer experience; Has fresh insights into the customer behavior and Internet trends
Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills that allow one to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
Preferred
BS degree in Technical or analytical field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
Technical knowledge of Internet services, including TCP/IP, SNMP, TR-69, DNS, DHCP and Static IP assignments, IPv4 and IPv6.
Working knowledge of DOCSIS, Passive Optical Network (PON), and MPLS-based Internet services
Understanding of WiFi and LTE wireless services
Understands financial P&L concepts and has the ability to formulate a business case for new products.
