We are seeking an attorney to join the Disney Branded Television Unscripted Legal Affairs team. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for all legal matters arising during the course of unscripted production for Disney+, including but not limited to, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of production and talent agreements, providing legal counsel to creative and business affairs executives and other key stakeholders in an accurate and timely manner, and providing thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues.
You will draft, review and approve contracts relevant to unscripted production, including production services agreements, location agreements, performer and contestant agreements, and a variety of releases. You will coordinate with Walt Disney Company subject matter experts (e.g., intellectual property, music, piracy, employment, labor, risk management, etc.) to address issues arising from unscripted production, and aid in coordinating clearance matters with third parties and internal Disney business units. You may also work on content license agreements with third party partners.
You will manage important relationships with our business and entertainment partners, provide advice to senior management at Disney Branded Television, and assist more senior counsel in the development of department policies, procedures and to help shape strategies and adapt templates. You will be expected to work independently but generally subject to supervision of more senior lawyers in the group, in particular seeking guidance on more complex or high-risk matters.
