Job Summary:

The Associate Manager, Outreach is responsible for working with the Director of Training, Development and Outreach and the recruitment team in planning, executing and evaluating Walt Disney Animation Studios Outreach initiatives and projects against an annual strategy. Your primary focus will be on building and perfecting programs related to our efforts in industry, school and community connections. You will contribute in developing programs that reflect the vibrant and inclusive culture of Disney Animation. You'll also support our efforts in industry and academic relations, helping to plan and execute programming at related events, expos, and conferences. This may include taking the stage to help share our learnings and speak about opportunities and experiences at our studio.

In this role you will:

  • Serve as a thought partner in developing outreach and social media strategies, connecting key stakeholders within Disney Animation and throughout the Walt Disney Company and helping to ground those ideas and goals into actionable plans.
  • Project management, event relations and logistics for outreach events both virtual and in-person, portfolio critiques, conference participation, festivals, and academic-based events.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects from inception to completion including industry relations with associations, events, conferences, festivals and related outreach efforts
  • Work with appropriate team stakeholders on identifying scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, contract requirements, budget and timing including studio leaders and design partners
  • Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented, approved and communicated to all stakeholders
  • Contribute data, research and recommendations to strategic plan
  • In partnership with finance, forecast requirements; schedule expenditures; analyze variances, registration, venue, AV support, set-up and strike protocol and related event requirements.
  • Create structure to estimate time, effort and resources required for each project
  • Partner with Recruitment and Design on social media strategies
  • Be accountable for project success and results
  • Clearly communicate expectations to team, studio management, studio partners and outside partners

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience within a creative or production environment, animation highly preferred
  • Experience coordinating large-scale events and complex projects
  • Ability to work with all types of highly creative, artistic and technical disciplines with proven ability to deal with a variety of individuals, levels and situations in a professional and confidential environment
  • Excellent organization skills required for project logistics, development and execution
  • Excellent written, verbal, e-social and presentation skills in a professional and appropriate tone. Attention to detail including proofreading documents or event collateral
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to execute appropriate solutions
  • Excellent ability at both receiving and providing feedback
  • Strong follow through skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner equitably at all levels
  • Positive attitude and ability to be flexible in a non-static environment
  • Mac proficiency with Google suite, Keynote and PowerPoint
  • Experience with project management tools a plus
  • Some domestic or international travel may be required

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
