The Boeing Global Services' Global Data Management team is searching for Geospatial Technician – SME. This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in Englewood - Colorado, USA.

The successful candidate has the ability to apply extensive job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Recognized as a job expert within the department/organization. Provides technical solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long-term perspective. Guides the successful completion of aspects of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects and interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Possesses specialized knowledge of the geospatial requirements.
• Acquires, analyzes, compiles, evaluates and reviews geospatial data.
• Exploits, extracts, formats, manipulates, and symbolizes geospatial information.
• Performs the extraction and finishing of geospatial information produced.
• Ensure the quality, accuracy and currency of geospatial information.
• Translates and refines customer guidance for lower level technicians.
• Acts as mentor to entry level technicians.
• Assists in identifying efficiencies in the workflow.
• Identifies risks and resourcing deficiencies related to schedule, quality and labor allocations. Implements workflow revisions and updating work instructions.
• Assigns work to lower level technicians.
• Provides technical guidance to subcontractors.
• Reports project status to management and to the customer.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 2+ years of experience and/or educational background in technical drafting
• 2+ years of experience  in CAD/CAM software
• 2+ years of experience in coaching or teaching others towards improved performance or meeting developmental objectives

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience in utilizing MicroStation, Jeppesen Aviation Database (JAD), Business Process Manager (BPM), Electronic Source Library (ESL), JeppView, and Aspen

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master, 6 year's related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Colorado summary pay range: Min: $42,000 Max:  $74,000
