Global Strategy and Planning helps inform strategic decision-making and acts as a catalyst and driver for strategic change. The team constructively challenges the business with critical thinking and innovative insight to improve the way we do business.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as an Associate, GBM Strategy working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

Working with counterparts and senior leaders across the MSS & GBM function, the job holder has the opportunity to drive strategic initiatives focused on delivering maximum value. They will help drive strategy design and implementation that meets the evolving needs of clients, regulators, employees and shareholders to shape the future of MSS and GBM.

In this role, you will:

  • Use analytical, strategic and creative thinking skills to drive the development and execution of GBM strategic initiatives
  • Establish excellent working relationships with key stakeholders across GBM
  • Identify key issues/opportunities and using HSBC and external sources to provide actionable recommendations
  • Effectively drive execution of the key strategic projects
  • Monitor and track both internal performance and external trends to ensure the strategy remains on track
 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to draw insights from complex data sources and to communicate these succincintly
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Confidence in liaising across the organisation with an ability to deliver insightful and succinct analyses
  • Ability to prioritise effectively against multiple deadlines
  • Strategy consulting experience, preferably gained at one of the leading global consultancies
  • Tangible knowledge of and experience in the Corporate and Investment Banking sector, preferably with relevant experience in a Global Markets and/or Securities Services environment
