Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Associate Engineer Technical Services provides technical support/advanced troubleshooting and drives continuous product, process, and packaging improvement at MW factory locations. The position is a member of the MSE/TPM Focused Improvement (FI), FMOS Pillars and support Q Pillar initiatives; leads/executes improvement projects and mentors/trains others in problem solving methodologies. Additionally, this role manages R&D line trials by coordinating requests with the site value stream, R&D, Engineering and Commercial to ensure optimal execution and knowledge capture.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and previous experience/knowledge in engineering, manufacturing, product development or related food industry experience
  • High school diploma and 8+ years engineering, manufacturing, product development or related food industry experience  
  • Travel less than 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt required
  • TPM experience
  • Previous food/gum experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implements new and improved products, processes, systems, methodologies, and packaging
  • Designs, manages, communicates and documents line trials
  • Develops and implements financial and quality continuous improvements through the application of complex problem-solving techniques, contributing to overall site CI goals through the completion of at least 2 Six Sigma projects per year
  • Supports development of standard run conditions as part of new product/process/pack validation
  • Leverages standard run conditions to develop statistical process control settings and ranges.  Adds new sample plans to system
  • Participates in Quality Management Programs (QMP) such as but not limited to Internal Audits, CAPA’s, S-CAPA’s
