Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for water system management via a watershed* approach for the multiple CNJ sites.
  • This would include the areas of supply water (potable and non-potable), wastewater treatment (sanitary, industrial, biologics), ground water treatment, construction dewatering and HVAC water treatment programs.
  • Development of budgets and contracted services at multiple sites.
  • Development and periodic review of watershed SOP and WIs for the sites’ operations departments.
  • Provide necessary support and training to ensure implementation of watershed SOPs and WIs to the regional sites. Ensure assessments are conducted to verify that related operation activities are in compliance with SOPs and that the operations are audit ready.
  • Standardize watershed data tracking throughout the region for internal reporting to the sites.
  • Analysis data to identify use trends and opportunities for process changes.
  • Manage and standardize the watershed contracted laboratory sample collection and laboratory analyses procedures for compliance reporting to the regional sites.
  • Support related projects through project reviews and equipment specifications with site and global engineering to ensure compliance is maintained.
  • Manage all required watershed operating permit activities and communications, e.g., NJPDES DSW, DGW, ISRA, TWA, Safe Drinking Water Act.
  • Development and periodic review of watershed M&O manuals for each site’s operation in compliance with NJDEP.
  • Manage and expand HVAC water treatment programs at the sites to support the corporate sustainability goals for water conservation and reduction in chemicals used.
  • Keep abreast of changes in regulations and technologies in the watershed industries. Evaluate and apply new technologies to support site objectives and meet compliance for changes in regulations.
  • Work across sites, departments and functional areas to implement operational changes to support compliance, energy and water savings.

Job Requirements/Education:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of practical design and operations of wastewater treatment and supply water treatment plants and systems.
  • Experience in chemical/physical and biological wastewater treatment.
  • Experience in operation of reclaim and potable water systems.
  • Minimum 8-10 years experience operating HVAC systems and water treatment technologies for these systems.
  • Proven project management skills in compliance driven operations.
  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience supervising others.
  • Experience with effectively managing and developing budgets.
  • Effective organization and administrative skills.
