Key Responsibilities
Design and develop translational medicine and clinical biomarker strategies to effectively drive the assessment of new drug programs in dermatology and rheumatology.
Implements translational activities through collaboration with clinical research physicians, statisticians, clinical operations, computational biologists, contract research organizations, academic experts, and translational scientists.
Develop collaborations to assess translational strategies including biomarkers, patient selection hypotheses, dose and schedule, combination strategies, life cycle management and differentiation
Author non-clinical pharmacology study reports, invention disclosures, as well as translational portions of clinical study protocols, investigator brochures, and regulatory documents.
Implement biomarker strategies in clinical trials to deliver actionable data and facilitate decisions for clinical and development teams.
Responsible for managing timelines, assay selection, contracting, sample analysis, and report preparation for successful clinical trial execution.
Ensure delivery of biomarker data for clinical studies through collaboration with supporting functions and CROs; responsible for aiding in creation of SOWs and interfacing with CRO for execution of services, in conjunction with Biospecimen Operations and Procurement.
Collaborate with Global Biometrics, and Informatics and Predictive Sciences for analysis of clinical biomarker data
Develop and monitor budgets for clinical trials, internal and external research projects
Interfaces with early development scientist to ensure seamless flow of information for assets which are entering the remit of translational medicine
Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external audiences
Qualifications & Experience
PhD or MD/PhD with 5 - 10 years of relevant work experience in translational medicine. Experience with clinical drug development programs in dermatology and/or rheumatology is required.
Strong record of leading innovative efforts within the clinical and translational medicine setting to achieve defined goals and support clinical development
Ability to interact effectively across boundaries using influencing and relationship building skills.
