CIC provides support to corporate clients and institutional firms through the provision of core banking products, such as lending, deposits and transaction banking services, whilst also offering clients expertise in capital markets (private placements, bonds and syndicated loans), financial markets (foreign exchange, interest rate management, money market and credit) and private equity. This enables us to meet the varying and sometimes complex needs of all types of clients.

The Global Banks & Group team provide critical relationship coverage for Banks across the world as well as to our own Group Subsidiaries. The Banks team has a geographical coverage model broadly across EMEA, Asia, UK and North America. Our critical Banking relationships cover a full suite of products across Transaction Banking services, liquidity, Repo, FX, Structured Solutions and DCM.

As an Associate Director in the UK, Asia & South Africa team you have responsibility for leading and growing a portfolio of large banking clients that are of significant strategic importance to Lloyds Banking Group (LBG). As well as supporting the overall growth of revenue, your role will be to originate new business, manage senior partner relationships, and ensure the team is maximising client relationship value to deepen the wallet across the portfolio. You will also need to collaborate and work with our overseas offices and colleagues to deliver our full product and service offering.

By building strong, balanced and meaningful client relationships, this role directly contributes to client revenue generation, whilst ensuring the effective management of risk. You will play a lead role in developing LBG’s profile in the market to attract new business and enhance relationships with existing clients.

  • Lead own portfolio of client relationships and support overall team portfolio strategy to optimise income generation and business objectives, in particular balancing income and risk. Create/develop and originate business leads to maximise business opportunities and growth for the Group.
  • Awareness of wider business, economic, political and market environment (domestic and international) in wider financial services industry. Knowledge of the key product suite that Lloyds can offer both from Lloyds Bank and Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets, relevant for our client base. Useful to have experience of Transaction Banking and Markets products. Knowledge of the relevant Financial Services products would be advantageous
  • Promote the team franchise with internal and external partners, collaborating closely with product and delivery colleagues to maximise impact and opportunities. The role regularly requires you to have meetings with senior management across the group and provide reports/documentation to internal stakeholders right the way up to executive board level
  • Manage key Credit, Operational and other risks associated with the portfolio, including specific transactions and preparation of proposals to seek approval / renewal of credit limits. Ability to identify, assess, supervise, control and mitigate risks. An appreciation of the main risks facing the business and the role the individual in mitigating these. Understanding of regulatory framework/requirements within which the business operates (FCA and wider regulatory framework including EU and international, as well as Legal framework).
  • The ability to interpret financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures
  • Awareness and application of sector strategy appropriate to the role. Understanding of the sector team strategy and its relevance to LBG.

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates and will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks
