Associate General Counsel

The Associate Gen Counsel job assists in protecting an organization's rights, obligations and privileges and its legal interests by providing legal direction to organization and by ensuring the legal activities meet the current and future needs of the organization. This job provides legal advice/counsel in business-related areas of expertise (e.g., corporate law, real estate, tax, business litigation, transactions/anti-trust, compliance, intellectual property, employment/labor, corporate governance, ethics, etc.).

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Provides hands-on counsel to management and manages the operations of legal department.
• Represents/advocates for the organization in litigation, arbitration, mediation or other disputes with courts, government agencies, or other legal authorities.
• Protects the organization's rights in contract negotiations, settlements, and litigation.
• Negotiates and/or approves legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters.
• Identifies, evaluates, and addresses issues of legal risk.
• Researches, analyzes, and interprets proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations.
• Advises management on recent changes in laws and regulations that affect the company.
• Liaises with external legal counsel on complex legal issues.

Educational Requirements

• University (Degree) Preferred

• 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred
