POSITION SUMMARY

BorgWarner is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as an Associate Category Manager for our Delphi Technologies Aftermarket team at our Customer Technology Center in Auburn Hills, MI.

This person will primarily support the development and execution of internal and external category strategies.  The associate category manager will be responsible for helping to recognize category insights and collaborating with sales and customers to turn insights into actionable plans to drive growth.  Additionally, will support product life cycle management for the category including identifying new to range SKUs, end of life SKUs and pricing strategies.  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support the development of internal and external category plans
    • Promote the category vision
    • Execute category strategies, initiatives and scorecard measures
    • Identify critical insights needed to support the internal and external category plans
    • Work with multifunctional global team to ensure organizational success in executing the category plan
  • Support development of the global product line strategy and align with regional plan
  • Engage with customers to identify ideal product assortment and support inventory deployment
  • Collaborate on the development of category specific marketing materials and promotional plans
  • Product life cycle management
    • Perform market research to support pricing strategies
    • Execute new to range product introductions within the region
    • Plan for SKU obsolescence 
  • Proactively support customers with product gap analysis, market insights, customer strategy recommendations, marketing presentations and respond to inquiries

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (business/marketing preferred)
  • 3+ years of Automotive / Aftermarket experience in category or product management
  • Demonstrated success in developing insights that lead to unique strategic direction and initiatives with breakthrough business results
  • Process oriented with strong collaborative approach to problem identification and solution
  • Proven ability to manipulate and organize complex part level data into concise reports
  • Ability to work in multi-functional teams within a matrix organization
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written
  • Strong judgment in decision-making and problem solving
  • Confidence and capacity to work with all levels of the organization
  • Customer service orientation
