This role is primarily responsible for the accounting for the Company’s corporate investments including recording, reconciling, analyzing and reporting of investment balances and transactions. This role interacts with Corporate Accounting team members as well as Finance, Tax, Treasury and Fund Accounting. You will also work to improve the Company’s investment accounting systems including developing new reports and analysis to help support the investment accounting process. You will gain exposure to the accounting for a wide range of investments including money market funds, debt and equity securities, mutual funds, private equity, real estate, equity method investments, private investment funds, derivatives, etc. You will also assist in responding to recurring and adhoc requests, various financial reporting requests, and will be involved in projects and process efficiency initiatives.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Undergraduate degree in accounting
1-3 years relevant GL accounting experience or 2-4 years of fund accounting experience
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and internal controls.
You have strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems independently or as part of a team.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills that create and maintain strong, constructive relationships with business partners.
Focus on details while maintaining a broad view of business objectives.
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to grasp complex organizational/ownership structures.
Highly motivated, flexible, quality focused, team player with strong organizational skills.
Ability to learn financial systems and multi-dimensional reporting tools (i.e., Oracle, Hyperion Financial Management, InvestOne, Tableau, Essbase) and are highly proficient in Excel.

As member of the FMR LLC Accounting & Controllership team, this role is exposed to a broad range of accounting topics and will directly impact the annual and quarterly financial statements for the consolidated company, FMR LLC. The position provides the opportunity to work closely with members of various teams across Corporate Accounting as well as Treasury, Finance, Tax and Fund Accounting.
