Position Summary:

Assists with the management of all aspects of Store operations including customer service, store condition and the selection, training and performance management of Store Sales Associates. Provides day-to-day prioritized direction to Team Leader and sales associates in support of operational execution and customer experience while working sales floor. 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform Human Resource functions related to interviewing and hiring, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Serves as a role model, mentor and resource. Conducts performance monitoring, which includes supporting and providing feedback on evaluations, and initiates corrective action in consultation with Store Manager.

  • Facilitates and supports the orientation, training and certification process for Sales Associates, including the completion of all company training and compliance for required certifications. 

  • Executes all supply chain/inventory management processes and procedures within the store. Works with inventory analyst to achieve overall store in-stock percent target on Weekly DSD, Non-DSD, Sunday In-Stock and promotional inventory.  

  • Utilizes daily and weekly key performance indicators and financial reporting to develop needed initiatives in collaboration with store leadership.

  • Oversees the external ordering process such as e-comm and express orders to ensure fulfillment of orders. 

  • Accurately receive and merchandise products along with ordering DSD where applicable, ensuring proper rotation and product quality through proper storage of perishables within the appropriate temperature zones. 

  • Executes in a timely manner on the assigned workflow tasks within the My-Go To task system. 

  • Collaborates with Team Leader to ensure the store meets or exceeds the established merchandising standards for product quality, presentation and visual marketing/merchandising. 

  • Supports end cap and planogram execution and inventory management that includes the execution of our inventory adjustment markdown liquidation policy. Responsible for the store execution of the printing of signs and shelf tags along with the accurate completion of price changes. Oversees the completion of sign maintenance and price verification processes.

  • Oversees and ensures execution of the frozen to fresh program through the needed daily execution of the slacking of product and dating  as outlined within our frozen to fresh program. 

  • Assists Store Manager with the annual budgeting process for sales and expenses and analyzes monthly financial reporting; addresses variances when necessary.

  • Support and execute activities such as marketing initiatives, contests, merchandising and other in-store promotional activities. 

  • Executes office cash handling functions including setting up tills, counting down tills, preparing/delivering bank deposits, and getting change for cashiers.

  • Assesses voice of customer data to identify customer experience trends for improvement while acknowledging and recognizing individual and store performance excellence. 

  • Appropriately responds to store emergencies, such as alarm calls and electrical outages, ensuring safe handling of store assets and minimizing loss

  • Achieves and maintains certifications or licenses to meet local, state and federal requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to speak and understand Spanish highly preferred for certain store locations.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, retail environment

  • Ability to lead, influence and train others
