Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Under the direction of the Sanitation Manager is responsible for general sanitation of the plant. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that they may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality, and or quality.

 

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/MAJOR DUTIES

 

  •  Assist in plans and manages a master sanitation schedule in accordance with governmental, company     and   customer standards.

 

  • Maintains monthly department budget.

 

  • Writes and updates cleaning procedures.

 

  • Responsible for employee training of chemicals and equipment cleaning.

 

  • Must have working knowledge of HACCP.

 

  • Must have knowledge of Pest control.

 

  • Will need to be able to achieve AIB Hygene and Sanitation certification.

 

  • Develops and maintains applicable records, (EPA, etc.).

 

  • Maintains cleanliness of work area.

 

  •      Ensures compliance with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment,     Safety.) Position is responsible for ensuring staff is fully trained and operates within the parameters     of the facility’s Security Program with regards to site and product security.

 

  • Performs of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job,             including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and      other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS

 

LICENSE                      -May be required to possess-/maintain a valid license to operate forklift.

 

MOBILITY                    - Physically capable of unimpeded movement to all areas of plant.  Ability to climb fixed and portable ladders.  Able to enter and exit confined spaces.

 

 

SENSORY                    -Ability to distinguish color coded equipment.  Vision enough to distinguish operating lights and panels on machinery and equipment.  Must be able to hear and identify audible alarm system.  Must be able to hear and identify normal and abnormal equipment operating sounds. Ability to work in 100+ degree environment.

 

COMMUNICATION        -Speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English (in person and via telephone) and/or other language, if required.  Ability to generate written communication.  Ability to read and review written communication.

 

OTHER                                    - Ability to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs. Must have the ability to wear/use approved applicable safety equipment (PPE) as needed.  Ability to research, ascertains, develops and implements and monitors required policies and procedures.  Must have and maintain Center of Disease Control Food handling requirements and other governmental and/or customer requirements.

 

Minimum Requirements

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

 

Three (3) or more years experience in Bakery sanitation.  Demonstrated knowledge in required governmental standards. 

 

DESIRED EDUCATION

 

High School diploma or equivalency.  AIB certification program.

Completion of formal management skills training program.
