Position Title: Assistant Manager - Application Development

Job Purpose/Objective:

The purpose of our Assistant Manager - Application Development position is to assist Application Development Manager to provide management of all Information technology systems development especially the new disruptive insurance core service systems and existing systems enhancement to support CIGNA Thailand’s businesses growth and organizational strategies. This position will work closely among the other IT staffs and business users.

Critical Tasks and Expected Contributions/Results:

ï‚· To identify and recommend IT solution and development process improvement.

ï‚· To analyze, design and give advises to development team to build or enhance new applications to support business needs

ï‚· To manage the development process including project management, planning and execution for the scoping, conceptualization, architecture, implementation and user acceptance testing of new technologies, technology upgrades and business improvement enhancements. Especially involve in all agile ceremonies, such as daily scrum meeting, sprint planning, sprint review, retrospective.

 To effectively manage CIGNA Thailand’s insurance systems including providing support on incident investigation and resolution to the Information Technology Operations team.

ï‚· To assist manage development Team to ensure they are appropriately recruited and developed. This includes scheduling, prioritizing and delegating work, providing guidance and sharing expertise, encouraging personal development, identifying training and development needs and implementing solutions, performance management and conducting performance reviews.

ï‚· To provide a high quality and efficient service to all users to allow them to work productively at all times.

ï‚· To ensure business requirements, functional specifications and procedures are documented and kept up-to-date to maximize the level of service provided to all users.

ï‚· To manage the company wide prioritization process used to determine resource allocation for Information technology resources.

ï‚· To participate in project work as and when required by the Application Development Manager

Key Challenges/Anticipated Changes in Environment

ï‚· CIGNA has recently entered then Thailand market and there is rapid planned growth.

ï‚· The Assistant Applications Development Manager plays a supporting lead role in providing a stable and effective systems environment to support the growth strategies.

ï‚· Interpreting and translating management goals into workable solutions which meet the needs of all parties involved and fulfilling them within the required datelines. The Assistant Applications Support Manager needs to plan ahead and cultivate effective working relationships with colleagues of all levels, keep abreast of key issues of multiple users, negotiate a win-win outcome on deliverables, timelines and responsibilities.

ï‚· Managing resources and meeting deadlines for multiple concurrent projects whilst ensuring that the current systems remain stable and consistent.

Qualifications / Specific Requirements:

ï‚· A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent field of study and professional experience.

 4 – 8 years relevant information technology working experience.

 3 – 4 years life, accident or health insurance industry working experience.

ï‚· Ability to track record supporting and managing business applications.

ï‚· Ability to track record managing and leading people.

ï‚· Ability to travel if required.
