Our Fletcher, NC facility is looking for Assembly Technicians. This position is responsible for the assembly of carriers and components for tandem front and rear heavy duty drive axles according to standard work instructions and engineering specifications in a safety and quality driven manner.

The Assembly Technician will work in a team environment while using systems and processes such as no-fault forward, mistake avoidance, alert systems, and self and succession checks to ensure no issues are passed to the next operation. In the event any issues or non-conformities are discovered, the Assembly Technician must follow procedures and/or escalate to the Team Lead or Facilitator.

Candidates are expected to work with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, dial indicators and micrometers to ensure required specifications are met. Candidates must also be able to read, comprehend and execute work instructions as well as read and comprehend bills of materials and control panels.

All safety requirements such as proper use of all PPE, safe machinery operation and hand tool operation must be followed. 5-S standards are expected. Candidates are also required to actively participate in employee engagement and Kaizen events to assist in achieving site initiatives as outlined in the Meritor Production System.

Pay: $16.45 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical/Professional Knowledge/Training and Skills:

    • Minimum one year of manufacturing experience
    • Must be able to use precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, dial torque wrenches, and micrometers.
    • Must be able to read, understand, and use standard work instructions

Education/Certifications:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be flexible and be able to work in a team environment.
