The Impact You’ll Be Making
The Area Consumption Lead is an individual contributor leadership role within a customer-facing organization that acts as the principal consumption expert for that organization. The role is highly collaborative and highly influential, working with customers and Microsoft teams to create business value and drive the successful adoption of Microsoft cloud technologies by our customers.
Key Areas of responsibility:
Customer Focus: As a leader within a customer-facing organization, the ACL is ensures that the successful adoption of Microsoft's cloud technology by our customers is the prevailing business priority throughout their organization and looks for opportunities to drive efficiencies that lead to more customer facing-time for customer-facing roles.
Strategy: The ACL partners with Industry Solutions Leadership and other customer facing teams to establishing the business strategy for their organization and implement the necessary operating rhythms and controls to execute against it.
Delivery Excellence: The ACL drives practice-wide continuous improvement rigor to increase organizational maturity around consumption motions and set a high-bar for delivery quality.
Practice Building: As a leader in a customer-facing practice, the ACL is responsible for building the organizational capability necessary to drive customer cloud outcomes, compete effectively the marketplace, and exemplifies the Microsoft Leadership Principals, inclusivity and collaboration.
Who We Are Looking For
Customer Focus- Ability to: Coach teams to lead customer conversations and manage expectations, leveraging in-depth knowledge of customer's business, industry and how solutions can uniquely meet their needs. Partner with Area and practice leadership to engage resources to resolve broad issues and address escalations. Develop action plans based on voice of customer feedback (e.g., surveys, listening systems) sharing learnings across practices and sponsoring systemic improvements to customer experience across workstreams. Skilled in: Relationship Management, Executive Presence, Trusted Business Advisor, Networking, Business Acumen, Technology Business Knowledge, Escalation Management.
Strategy- Ability to: Align practice consumption strategy with the customer, Area, and other internal organization objectives (e.g., Sales, Account/Domain, Go-To-Market) and formulate an execution plan leveraging insights from analytics insights (e.g., efficiency, operations), internal team members, and across organizational boundaries. Drive consistent messaging and provide support to land organizational change initiatives. Skilled in: Strategy Planning, Financial Analysis, Written & Oral Communications, Budgeting, Data Analysis, Synthesizing Information, Change Management, Change Leadership Facilitation.
Delivery Excellence- Ability to: Coach teams to manage complex scopes and budgets, balance investments and resources across consumption driving workstreams, communicate resource needs (e.g., hiring, resource planning, capacity) with the business and collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g., Domain/Account, selling partners) to ensure sustained delivery quality. Interface at high levels in organization to help resolve critical issues and hold teams accountable for execution and adherence to Consumption processes, policies, and quality delivery principles/methodologies. Skilled-in: Quality Assurance, Project Management, Conflict Resolution, Ambiguity Management, Team Orchestration, Technical Communication, Delivery & Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Deal Structuring and Review, Negotiation, Resource Management.
Practice Building- Ability to: Advises Area leadership on organizational capability by leveraging industry knowledge of cloud adoption trends to anticipate and plan for future capability needs. Coaches for clarity across the practice on Consumption focused IP re-use behavior. Drives Consumption forecasting rhythm to predict business results for the practice. Skilled-in: Accountability, Delegation, Team Building, Business Knowledge and Analysis, Opportunity Management, Deal Approval and Orchestration, Forecasting.
