Provides counsel and advice to Client Value Stream Leadership on significant Technical Strategy & Architecture matters, often requiring coordination between multiple delivery teams within the Client Value Stream, and also non-Client organizations. Undertakes and leads complex architecture projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous IT architecture issues. Coordinates with users and business leaders to determine requirements. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges; recommends process, product or service improvements. Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives; monitors project schedules and costs. Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as “the go-to person†for the most complex Architecture assignments.
This position is with the Client Value Stream within the US Commercial Portfolio.
Role Description
Provide architecture direction to Client Value Stream portfolio and program epics by defining Solutions that are in alignment with enterprise architecture standards, principles, and strategic technical and business direction
Work closely with cross-functional business teams in a consultative manner to drive new business and/or meet compliance requirements
Work in close collaboration with multiple IT delivery teams in a matrix environment to influence enhancements, design, and mutual understanding of business need
Create end-to-end Solutions that maximize alignment with target states and reuse of IT assets
Responsible for building delivery team consensus, and monitoring and facilitating execution of such Solutions
Key Responsibilities
Aligns the Value Stream and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to a common technological and architectural vision
Defines Solution, including: subsystems and their interfaces; allocates responsibilities to subsystems; understands solution deployment
Works with stakeholders and customers to establish a high-level Solution Intent
Establishes critical Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) at the Solution level
Works with portfolio stakeholders, particularly the Enterprise Architect, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of Enabler Epics
Participates in Program Increment (PI) Planning as needed, Pre- and Post-PI Planning, System and Solution Demos, and I&As
Supports technology/engineering aspects of Solution and Portfolio Kanban processes
Required Experience / Qualifications:
This position requires a highly technical, hands-on, motivated and collaborative individual with exceptional communication skills, proven experience working with diverse teams of technical architects, business users and IT areas on all phases of the software development life-cycle.
7 years of progressively responsible experience or Masters with 4 years of experience in building and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions
Advanced knowledge of the PRPC Architecture and all PRPC design and implementation features
Automated processes and integration experience with web sites, desktop applications, mainframe emulators, ERP software and CRM software
Expertise in software development phases including design, configuration, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business centric and process based applications
Expertise in a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, WebSphere or Weblogic, J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, XML, Java), .Net, Oracle, DB2, and MS/SQL
