What you will be doing?
The aim of this 3-year programme is to equip our apprentices with the skills and knowledge to competently maintain and repair our fleet of vehicles bodywork whilst achieving a Level 3 apprenticeship. What will you learn as part of your apprenticeship:Â
Commercial Vehicle Repair Technician – Successful candidates with learning all aspects of vehicle body repair. Apprentices will begin by learning the basics of stripping down damaged vehicle panels and components. Apprentices will also learn how to carry out repairs using body fillers, fibreglass and techniques for plastic and metal repair. Third year apprentices will learn how to use pulling a measuring JIG systems. You will use your skills to learn how we keep our fleet of vehicles on the road and downtime to a minimum whilst delivering a high standard of work. Your development will also improve your effective written and verbal communication skills, working as part of a team and taking ownership and responsibility when required. Â

Although much of the training will be flexible and tailored to your individual needs, there is an overall structure to the Apprenticeship Scheme:
You’ll start with an induction day which will introduce you to the Apprenticeship Programme.
You will work alongside a mentor who will be an experienced member of the team. They will support you through the programme and help you put into practice what you learn.
Your People Manager and your Apprentice Coach from the external Training company will be working with you and supporting you during your Apprenticeship.
From the beginning, you will start to work through various elements of your programme. This will include a mix of ‘on-the-job’ and ‘off-the-job’ training. You’ll meet regularly with your People Manager and Apprentice Trainer to plan your learning. There will also be college attendance to complete your Apprenticeship.

What you’ll have:
English and Maths GCSE Grade C or Level 4
A proven interest in the commercial vehicle/vehicle industry
What else could you bring:
Good interpersonal and IT skills
A full UK clean driving licence, to eventually obtain a full B class driving licence
