GAD is responsible for the provision of actuarial advice to the UK Government and a range of public service departments regarding their pension provisions and risk management. GAD operates with a number of internal teams with responsibility for specific areas of advice. The Executive Services team supports the GAD executive in delivering key organisational initiatives. It has a wide remit and incorporates staff with a varied skill set.
The Apprentice Project Manager roles will be an essential member of the team, providing project administration and support, whilst learning techniques and practices of Project Management and applying these across GAD. It is expected that the role will work on a varied set of projects whilst working towards the following qualifications:
Associate Project Manager Level 4
PMQ, APM (IPMA Level D)
It is envisaged that the requirements of the role will grow with the candidate but will include:
Attending Project Board Meetings
• Preparing board papers
• Minute taking
Project Tracking
• Working with spreadsheets and data
• Working with budgets and finance systems
• Preparation of project plans and documentation including reporting and risk
registers
• Interpreting data and providing updates
Project Office Responsibilities
• Liaising with actuarial project managers, chasing for updates
• Following up with managers on Project Initiation Documentations
• Preparation of statistics for organisational indicators
• Intranet updates and refreshing existing resource materials
Project Management
• Project management of projects in IT and business change
• Providing project management support in client projects
• Writing business cases and Project Initiation Documentations
• Project communications preparation
