To be eligible for this role, you must have no previous experience as a JLP Customer Delivery Driver and hold a clean car licence (Cat B) only.
Once training is complete you will be moved onto the following pay band
£29,100 (£13.60ph) - £37,800 (£17.67ph)
What’s the Apprentice role about?
As a Delivery Technician Apprentice you will move through the learning process of Delivery Driver, Installer and Technician over 12 months. You will learn on the job, to gain your level 2 Apprenticeship
You must also not be currently undertaking any other training course with any other college or training provider that is partially or fully funded by the government
Entering into a career as an apprentice is a great way to start in the field you want to work in. You will gain first hand experience of how the industry works, earning while you learn and join hundreds of others within the Partnership embarking on an apprenticeship journey too.
What you will be doing as a Customer Delivery Technician Apprentice
There are three steps to becoming a Customer Delivery Technician
Customer Delivery Driver - As a driver for the Partnership, you will promote the Partnership brand through a professional and courteous manner to other road users. This will include achieving your C1 licence
Customer Deliver Driver Installer - As part of a 2 person crew, you will deliver, assemble and install a wide range of home furnishings, electrical products and sports equipment, ensuring every delivery is made with the highest level of customer service
Customer Deliver Driver Technician - As a Technician you will spend a proportion of your working day completing installation/assembly services in customers home, once trained you will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching colleagues of varying ability to achieve their personal development goals and the business secure its strategic aims.
This role is a physical role and will involve a high level of Manual Handling (you will spend a lot of your time delivering large two man items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds and mattresses etc)
20% of your time will be ‘off the job training’ to be able to progress to your End point Assessment (EPA) to complete the Customer Delivery Technician Apprenticeship. Off-the -job training is defined learning which is undertaken outside of day-to-day work duties and leads towards the achievement of the apprenticeship. Apprentices without Level1 English and Maths or equivalent will need to achieve this level and take the test for Level 2 English and Maths prior to taking the end point assessment.
Here's what you must have:
You will need a full valid UK manual car licence driving licence with no points, and you should be 18 years old or over. Part of the application process will include a licence check and DBS check to confirm your suitability for the role.

What you would gain at the end of the application:
You will gain a certificate from the Institute of Apprenticeship and Technical Education in Urban Delivery Driver. Gaining knowledge, skill, experience and behaviours of the JLP Partnership
