Job Title: Application Engineer II, Technology
Application Engineer II, OSS Integration and Testing
Description
The person serving in this position will drive the technical integration and testing aspects of application client-side and server-side products. This position is responsible for supporting integration, testing and deployment activities in support of new and existing application user interfaces on the Next Generation client-side platforms in video, broadband, wireless, telephony, email, and security. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in being part of a cross-functional team of engineers that integrate and test projects across a variety of third-party development relationships. These projects will be conducted in a fast-paced, fluid environment where all initiatives are aligned with corporate directives. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
Active engagement in a cross-functional engineering team to work on client-side platform technologies in support of customer facing products and applications (Video / Broadband / Wireless / Security)
In cooperation with Cox Product Development and OSS Development, use platform requirements for new products to support development of comprehensive integration, test, and operational handoff plans
Experience in integrating vendor supplied products with an incumbent MSO HFC environment
Detailed understanding of video products for the residential and commercial verticals that include video services to residential subscribers and Cox Business customers
Participate in the analyses of architecture and software implementation to identify performance and scalability improvements across all product platforms
Participate in the analysis and diagnosis of complex platform issues in support of Next Generation telecommunications functionality
Communicate status of all projects to technical and non-technical personnel, including peers, and direct management
Actively maintain knowledge of current and emerging MSO platform technologies and industry trends
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
3 + years of experience in systems integration and testing
3 + years’ experience with video service provider industry or industry vendor
Competent knowledge of STB and Broadband software and architectures
MSO Wireless integration experience
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Self-motivated with strong sense of project ownership
Preferred
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or substantial industry experience
5 + years of experience in systems integration and testing
Experienced Understanding of Software development methodologies including waterfall and Agile
Experienced knowledge of Interactive Television development and deployment
Skills and knowledge in MSO related Platforms
General understanding of programming and scripting language
Cable IPG experience and knowledge, e.g. RDK, IP Video Delivery, etc
General knowledge of Broadband development and deployment
