Key Qualifications

• Engineering management experience.
• Experience leading engineering projects from inception to launch.
• Consistent track record of hiring, building diverse teams and nurturing great engineers.
• Significant experience designing, implementing & supporting highly scalable systems and services in Java or other JVM-based languages.
• Ability to communicate meaningfully, collaborate and build long-term relationships across the organisation.

Description

We are looking for a manager with a strong foundation in engineering and financial proven experience. In this role, you will lead the development of key systems in the Apple Pay stack. You will have a proven track record to solve problems, and an interest in continuous learning and digging deep into the domain when necessary. JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE: • Day to day management of a diverse and growing team, including hiring, mentor, and performance management. • Champion for quality and best engineering practices to ensure scalable and resilient systems. • Partnering with key stakeholders and multi-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle. • Participating in design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organisation.

Education & Experience

• BSc or MS in Computer Science or related technical field, equivalent work experience will be considered.

Additional Requirements

• Any of the following is an advantage:
• • Practical experience with data platforms and distributed systems
• • Public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc)
• • Deployment experience using Docker and Kubernetes
• • Practical experience with Apache Kafka and/or Spark
• • Fintech experience or Payments experience.
• • Solid understanding of governance/security concepts and technologies including encryption, anonymisation, PCI, PII, GDPR, etc.
• This role may require occasional international travel/transatlantic travel.
