The Compliance function is a Second line of defence (LOD) function, responsible for reviewing and challenging the activities of the Group’s businesses (also referred to as “the First LODâ€) to ensure that they effectively manage, as “Risk Ownersâ€, the Regulatory and Financial Crime Compliance risks inherent in or arising from the conduct of their activities and for which they are responsible. The Second LOD consists of 'Risk Stewards' who are independent of the commercial risk-taking activities undertaken by the First LOD. The Compliance function is a Risk Steward for a number of non-financial risks in accordance with HSBC Group’s risk framework.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as an Analytics Manager, Regulatory & Risk Assessment, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
Role Purpose
This role sits within Compliance Analytics function. The function designs, builds, deploys and optimizes analytics models and solutions. Our main portfolio of projects links to Financial Crime R and Regulatory Conduct compliance as well as analytical / modelling support to the 2nd Line of Defence. The function is global, helping us achieve compliance in the countries where the bank operates. Our resources are located in UK, Poland and India.
This role is part of a team which performs development and validation of the models and product, as well as the related documentation and governance. Experience in Project Management, People Management, stakeholder skills and discussing complex topics in simple terms are a necessity.
The solutions we deliver need to manage risk effectively, be commercially focused, scalable across our markets and lines of business and stand up to the rigors of internal and external scrutiny and review. Background in model development and documentation as well as knowledge of one of our portfolio subject matter areas, will be beneficial for the candidate. The role does require knowledge of data science, data modelling, advanced analytical techniques and python programming. Exposure to the Big data is must for this role.
As an Analytics Manager you will work closely with senior stakeholders in Compliance Analytics and with other Compliance functions to scope, plan and drive project delivery. The person will undertake a broad range of responsibilities around model development and controls, interaction with independent reviewers, business management and risk & issue management.
