Job Description
Overview
The EDM Analyst is responsible for the execution of MDM operational processes and the support of data policies and procedures. The position contributes to SGWS's success by applying knowledge of Master Data Management processes and standards to maintain and improve master data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. The primary responsibility is to assist in the continuous improvement of obtaining, retaining, and maintaining master data in the most efficient, accurate, and effective manner for operations and reporting.
Primary Responsibilities
- Function as the primary point of contact related to the day-to-day execution of MDM related service tasks
- Work to answer questions, resolve data issues and provide analysis
- Management and maintenance of master data across lines of business to support MDM goals and objectives
- Perform Master Data additions, changes, and deletions according to standard procedures and business rules
- Ensure requests for master data maintenance are properly authorized/approved by working with appropriate data stewards and data owners
- Analyze data issues and develop solutions to address
- Educate clients on master data processes and business rules
- Maintain master data intake repository
- Maintain required audit-related documentation
- Respond to Master Data information requests
- Generate and record ideas for improvement (e.g., integrity checks, maintenance processes, metadata, services)
- Work with Data Stewards on defining the terms in the Enterprise Glossary and Data dictionary
- Work across teams to investigate data-related issues, seeking to provide timely and productive solutions.
- Work with other IT teams to investigate data-related problems in down-stream applications
- Translate customer requests into actionable tasks (i.e., work with the customer to clarify and define requests)
- Deliver service by established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) or negotiate service delivery if outside SLA
- Escalate issues before impacting the programs or other site teams
- Correct data flagged on data integrity reports/dashboards
- Drive adoption of MDM Platform with the help of the Data Stewards
- Perform other related duties assigned
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree and three years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Minimum one year plus combined business process, Data management, BI
Physical Demands
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
