Job Description:

The AML Officer for National Financial Services (NFS) and the Capital Markets businesses, including affiliated broker-dealers and a foreign exchange business, will lead the AML functions for these regulated entities. The role will be a key leader within Fidelity’s Financial Crimes Compliance Program Office and maintain oversight of the AML programs for the covered entities, as well as support the overall mitigation of money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes risks across Fidelity.

The Role

Reporting to Fidelity’s Head of the Financial Crimes Compliance Program Office/Deputy Chief AML Officer, the AML Officer will be responsible for:   

Establishing and maintaining AML programs reasonably designed to achieve compliance with applicable anti-money laundering requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, as amended, and related regulations.

Overseeing AML programs for clearing, prime brokerage, institutional trading, securities lending and foreign exchange businesses.  

Providing subject matter expertise, requirements, policy decisions and guidance on AML applicable to the covered entities to business partners and other relevant stakeholders.

Reviewing and assessing AML risk and providing advice relating to new business strategy, products, services, technologies, and new and existing relationships that may trigger requirements relevant to AML.

Performing risk assessments to identify potential issues, evaluate the need for control enhancements, and prioritization of program activities.

Reviewing, revising, and approving AML compliance policies and procedures, training, and forms, as required.

Developing presentations and presenting before relevant committees and senior management on AML risk assessments, audits, training, and other AML-related updates.

Representing Fidelity while engaging with regulators, industry groups, and peer firms.

Liaising with critical stakeholders including Senior Business Leaders, Compliance, Risk, Global Security, Technology, Legal, and Internal Auditors.

Identifying and escalating potential issues and violations of applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards of conduct or corporate policies to management and, as applicable, business unit compliance for further escalation consideration, such as meeting FINRA Rule 4530 reporting requirements.

 The Expertise You Have

Deep relevant experience in the financial services industry, including familiarity in AML implementation at a broker-dealer.

Knowledge of capital markets products and services is strongly preferred.

10-12+ years of AML experience or comparable experience at a law firm, regulatory agency, financial institution, major consulting firm or law enforcement.

Bachelor’s degree required and advanced degree a plus.

Series 7, 24 a plus.

Experience working with regulators such as FinCEN, the SEC, and FINRA.

Demonstrated ability to work and flourish in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
