Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

 

Role Description:

Work Construct Alignment:

The Finance IT Agile Lead role is responsible for supporting Finance to adopt agile ways of working, culture and mind-set in order to achieve organisational agility. The Agile lead will work across the Finance Portfolio to prioritise areas of improvement and embed mind-set, cultural and process changes. The successful candidate will conduct coaching and training, often providing hands on support to teams. They will facilitate workshops and work to improve ceremonies from an agile process and mind-set perspective.

Responsibilities:

    • Prioritises areas of focus to support Finance (the Portfolio) move towards organisational agility
    • Conducts training and coaching and provides hands on support for teams
    • Supports teams to understand and embed agile practices including the adoption of OKRs, aligning work to value and prioritising highest value work
    • Supports and prepares Leadership team for Portfolio level ceremonies including Quarterly Business Review and Portfolio Sync
    • Facilitates Agile and team events including VS review, SVS review and Increment Planning
    • Fosters an agile mind-set and communities of practice
    • Works collaboratively with the Leadership team to review portfolio metrics in order to achieve desirable outcomes
    • Helps team members focus on continuous improvement
    • Works with the Leadership team on their performance and any inhibitors to their work
    • Identifies and seeks to minimise waste within the team's processes
    • Identifies improvements to the agile operating model implementation and how to become an agile organisation
    • Ensures that agile principles are supported by the agile practices, and that the practices do not become 'stale'
    • Evaluates, reviews and supports the launches of VSs
    • Supports the adoption of Agile on Enterprise programme working across several VS/SVS.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in agile transformation and delivery across an Global enterprise programme
  • Experience leading and delivering complex change
  • In-depth understanding and agile facilitation experience
  • Understanding of the external market and latest trends in agile and scaled agile leadership

  • Coaching and motivation skills
  • Excellent collaboration and problem solving skills
  • Excellent team building skills
  • Understanding of the external market and latest trends in agile and scaled agile leadership
  • External accreditation in Agile
  • Senior stakeholder management skills, particularly with business outcome leads 

 

 

The role can be based in either London or Sheffield but some travel may be required.
