Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains, we are currently seeking a number of experienced Agile Delivery Lead to join HSBC Technology.

Commercial Banking (CMB) is at the heart of growth at HSBC, generating more than US$20 billion each year, and turning over more than US$1 million of trade every minute.  As one of the largest Commercial Banks in the world, we support millions of businesses in around 55 countries and territories – from small enterprises to large multinationals – to thrive and grow.

CMB Technology sits within HSBC Operations, Services and Technology (HOST). Our team provides the technology solutions that enable the business to operate and service customers. From cutting edge relationship management platforms built using Agile/DevOps to industrial strength engines that power global online websites and trade platforms, our highly engaged and talented team can do it all.

Digital Business Banking (DBB) is the next generation digital banking platform serving 650 thousand of HSBC’s UK SME customers.  

DBB is the culmination of multi-year major transformation programme to fully replace and re-platform HSBC UK’s legacy business banking web and mobile services, using the latest technologies and DevOps practices to deliver a us-er-centric, 24*7*365, full service offering.

The change agenda is driven by the completion of the core transformation roadmap, migration of customers to the new platform and increasingly, key regulatory commitments in the Open Banking and PSD2 arena.

 

What you will be doing;

 

  • Accountable for supporting multiple scrum teams to deliver software for the DBB UK Mobile channel;
  • Accountable with the Head of Delivery to review backlog plans and delivery schedule.
  • Accountable with the -GB/GF Product owner as well as key stakeholders to formulate the delivery plan
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance of the products and services with mandatory and regulatory requirements, control objectives in the risk and control framework and technical currency (in line with published standards and guidelines) and, with the architecture function, implementation of the business imperatives
  • Works with the product owner to ensure that work is de-constructed and translated into development activities across pods
  • Accountable for the creation and management of epics, backlog management and prioritisation across pods and for conformance to the IT operating model with regards to agile and DevOps practices

Requirements

What you will bring to the role; 

 

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

 

  • Extensive IT delivery and project management experience within Financial Services, Software, Telecoms or Energy sectors
  • Worked in a lead delivery role in a matrixed, geographically distributed and diverse team
  • Proven experience of working in large, complex IT programmes involving multiple concurrent projects and supplier teams
  • Experienced in ‘hands on’ IT software delivery from initiation to implementation
  • Full change management including IT project management, planning, budgeting, risk management, governance
  • Executive communications, presentations and reporting
  • Experience of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) or similar

 

 

This role will primarily be London but some travel may be required.
