Job Description
Responsibilities
The Eastman AWP and Construction Systems Project Engineer is the liaison between the engineering design process (3D model) and the virtual construction model (VCM). The primary goal is creation of a data-attributed engineering 3D model, then utilizing this model to prepare a virtual construction model with Construction Work Package (CWP) level definition. The VCM will be used by the contractor Workface Planning team in the development of Installation Work Packages (IWPs) for field construction. Most activities in this role will be related to the use and development of engineering and construction modeling tools and development of digitalized IWP’s.
Safety:
- Must have and foster a Zero Incident Mindset
- Actively participate in Construction field safety audits to support construction safety and develop knowledge of the projects and field activities.
- Actively support improvements to the IWP development process and the IWP standard template for integration of safety.
Construction Model Expertise - Project Team Support:
- Serve as a resource and liaison to the Project Manager, Project Controls Manager, Construction Manager, and project team to deliver a high quality, AWP-compliant model from Engineering to Construction.
- Ensure the engineering 3D model is built consistently per Eastman AWP data standards as defined in the AWP compliant model specification. Partner with Engineering to provide the CWP definition either within the engineering model or the VCM.
- Audit each active SER project per the data specification, provide coaching and feedback on data attribution, support the engineering design teams.
- Provide initial set-up for each virtual construction model with CWP level definition.
- Receive weekly updated engineering models and incorporate changes into the VCM without compromising work and data attributes from WFP team. Automate as appropriate
- Regularly engage with the construction contractor WFP team to hand-off the VCM and then advise and train on use of the model.
- Assist the WFP team and construction field supervision in VCM model reviews for field supervision input.
- Development - Understand and learn processes for development of the Path of Construction.
