Job Summary:

The Advanced Analytics & Optimization Manager will leverage multiple statistical methodologies to develop insights into our global marketing investment, and incorporate these insights in advanced scenario planning applications for use by the Global Marketing & Sales Organization. At the direction of senior leadership, this role will also develop and implement data mining projects for the wider Consumer Insight, Measurement & Analytics organization. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics & Optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Marketing Mix Models for various business units within Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP)
  • Transform model results into insights to help stakeholders understand historical media impact and trends in media performance
  • Develop and deliver action-oriented, insightful analytic presentations that provide consultative direction to key stakeholders
  • Create other statistical models for various DPEP business units and business problems
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to gain insights into the business operations and to validate data

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2- 3 years professional work experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to summarize and present complex analytics to senior leadership
  • Experience with various analytic, data mining and machine learning methodologies including: multivariate regression, mixed models, clustering, time series regression, and forecasting
  • Experience with R or Python

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years professional work experience
  • High proficiency with using R or Python for data mining
  • Prior work experience within a media agency or analytics consulting firm
  • Knowledgeable in marketing or media mix modeling
  • Expert in advanced data mining and statistical methodologies
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases

Required Education

  • Master's degree or equivalent in statistics, mathematics, economics, data mining, computer science, engineering or operations research

Preferred Education

  • PhD or equivalent in statistics, mathematics, economics, data mining, computer science, engineering or operations research
