Global Clinical Supply Chain (CSC) is an organization within Global Supply Chain (GSC).  GSC’s vision is to be a patient-centric, integrated supply chain, launching and supplying innovative products that deliver hope to patients through life-changing medicines.  The Global Clinical Supply Chain (CSC) organization contributes to this vision by working seamlessly across the enterprise to supply BMS’s global portfolio of clinical studies.  CSC represents an innovative organizational model, an innovation that enables BMS for a future in which commercial supply chains will be increasingly similar to clinical supply chains due to advances in personalized medicine and targeted therapies.

Position Summary: 

The Associate Director, Strategy & Business Operations – Business Operations Lead will operate in a chief of staff capacity. Facilitates CSC budget management, communications, strategic workshops. Supports the development & implementation of a strategic vision through initiatives in digitization, compliance, risk management and innovation.   Plays a key role in developing CSC organization culture, norms, behaviors. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the CSC governance framework, the setting of agendas, priorities and objectives for the CSC Leadership Team; understand and triage topics for cross functional discussion and alignment. Facilitate discussions in a structured manner to achieve quick decisions and robust outcomes.
  • Partner with the Head of CSC-S&BO to define strategy, priorities and objectives for CSC
  • Organize & execute key CSC meetings (including CSC townhalls); formulate communications content for cascade throughout the organization.
  • Lead the development of CSC metrics and measures that drive the identification of continuous improvement opportunities and ensure healthy business operation.
  • Manage the process to generate and maintain the CSC budget.
  • Maintain key information for CSC (including SharePoint) for internal & external communication
  • Drive business process excellence (including use of Operational Excellence tools) to identify and implement improvement opportunities and develop best practices.
  • Conduct and participate in industry benchmarking, stakeholder analysis and obtains voice of the customer to ensure strategic fit.  Establish internal and external network to enable visibility to future industry trends, clinical customer needs and technology that could affect CSC conduct and deliverables to identify opportunities for innovation.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Engineering or Business, preferably with focus on Operations / Supply Chain
  • 10+ years of experience in in the biotech/pharma industry, or comparable
  • 3+ years in positions with responsibility to lead or significantly contribute to project mgmt., cross-functional taskforces, planning and execution of strategic initiatives
  • Executive-level communication skills; ability to prioritize work with autonomy and drive results under pressure.
  • Proven ability to act as a change agent while influencing and challenging the status quo.
  • Successful track record of leading through influence and working effectively across global complex organizational matrices with an enterprise mindset.
  • Excellent collaboration, problem solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in team leadership, cross-functional stakeholder management
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish results and meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Proven critical thinking, analytical and logic skills with a focus on fact-based decision-making.
