Description:

Performs actuarial analyses for Medicare Advantage business, including, but not limited to: Revenue & risk score analysis and projections, financial forecasts, Medicare Part C bid support, mid-year and final settlement revenue accruals, and maintaining the CMS Part C risk adjustment model.

Responsibilities:

• Applies analytical methods through the use of mathematical and statistical models in bid modeling, financial analyses, revenue projections, etc.

• Completes ad hoc assessments and projects for corporate-wide or market-specific initiatives.

• Supports risk score trend analysis, risk score projection consistent with CMS guidelines, and keeps risk score model up to date with CMS changes.

• Investigates complex analytical issues related to risk adjustment payment.

• Communicates results of analyses to more senior actuarial team members.

• Actively participates in team and other internal meetings and may present on specific topics.

• Manage tight deadlines for multiple competing priorities, scope, and converging opinions to solution in a timely manner.

• Strong interest in pursuing actuarial exams.

Qualifications:

• BS in Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or other related field

• Minimum 3-4 years of actuarial/ data analytics experience

• Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Strong technical skills in SAS and SQL

• Strong mathematical, financial, statistical and technical skills.

• Strong communication and presentation skills; written/verbal proficiency

• Ability to identify problem areas and take initiative to implement solutions.

• Healthcare/ Medicare experience preferred.

• Data Analytics Experience preferred​

This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
