Description:
Performs actuarial analyses for Medicare Advantage business, including, but not limited to: Revenue & risk score analysis and projections, financial forecasts, Medicare Part C bid support, mid-year and final settlement revenue accruals, and maintaining the CMS Part C risk adjustment model.
Responsibilities:
Applies analytical methods through the use of mathematical and statistical models in bid modeling, financial analyses, revenue projections, etc.
Completes ad hoc assessments and projects for corporate-wide or market-specific initiatives.
Supports risk score trend analysis, risk score projection consistent with CMS guidelines, and keeps risk score model up to date with CMS changes.
Investigates complex analytical issues related to risk adjustment payment.
Communicates results of analyses to more senior actuarial team members.
Actively participates in team and other internal meetings and may present on specific topics.
Manage tight deadlines for multiple competing priorities, scope, and converging opinions to solution in a timely manner.
Strong interest in pursuing actuarial exams.
Qualifications:
BS in Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or other related field
Minimum 3-4 years of actuarial/ data analytics experience
Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong technical skills in SAS and SQL
Strong mathematical, financial, statistical and technical skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills; written/verbal proficiency
Ability to identify problem areas and take initiative to implement solutions.
Healthcare/ Medicare experience preferred.
Data Analytics Experience preferred​
This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
