Job Summary:

Disney Worldwide Shared Services’ Accounts Payable provides global support and services to DWSS partners, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant payments in accordance with corporate guidelines and various federal, state and local regulations. Accounts Payable works closely with Procure-to-Pay partners, Finance and Accounting partners, IT partners, and partners from various business units or functions to continually improve service and processes, decrease processing costs, ensure compliance, and achieve improved economies of scale with regard to payment procedures and processes.

The Accounts Payable Manager is the product owner for technologies related to Invoice Processing, OCR, and smart data validation, ensuring liaison with the third party vendor(s) as well as the Disney Enterprise Technology group regarding tool enhancements and upgrades, as well as troubleshooting, testing, and access.

The Accounts Payable Manager is directly responsible for managing a team of Invoice Processors responsible for processing approximately 1 million PO and Non-PO invoices annually for North America, for invoices across The Walt Disney Company. The Accounts Payable Manager is directly responsible for managing a team of Invoice Processors responsible for processing invoices in support of the Orlando Food & Beverage warehouse to support The Walt Disney World Parks.

The Accounts Payable Manager maintains the relationship with our Third Party Imaging vendor, responsible for receipt and initial scanning/indexing of paper invoices received for processing.

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for standardization and optimization of global invoice processing tools, processes and procedures for Disney Worldwide Shared Services, taking into account corporate, regulatory and statutory requirements at a local and regional level. Manager is responsible for monitoring global adherence to compliance policies as well as service standards through Key Performance Indicators related to cycle times and processing accuracy.

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for leading projects related to continuous process improvement, technology upgrades, and process changes and/or integration for the areas related to global invoice processing, and acts as a project team member on a variety of other Procure to Pay initiatives involving global invoice processing functions.

Responsibilities:

Transactional Management

  • Direct oversight of Domestic (US) Invoice Processing for both PO and Non-PO invoices, with an annual invoice volume of approximately 900K invoices per year, with ~$16B in spend.
  • Direct oversight of Food & Beverage invoice processing to support The Walt Disney World parks Orlando F&B Distribution warehouse.
  • Direct oversight of domestic contracts and down payment invoice processing
  • Direct oversight of PO Invoice processing workflows, requiring liaison with other PTP departments regarding aging workflow and general workflow management
  • Product owner for DWSS’ Invoice Processing Smart OCR and data validation technology, requiring frequent liaison with TWDC Enterprise Technology group(s) to manage configuration, access, and overall performance specifications.
  • Primary TWDC contact for third party vendors providing tools and systems within the global invoice processing space.
  • Ensures timely and accurate invoice processing, adhering to local regulatory requirements and corporate compliance requirements.
  • Ensures compliance to DWSS SLAs regarding invoice processing and monitors team members’ individual performance, providing correction, guidance, and mentorship as appropriate
  • Indirect oversight of all international ‘spokes’ and their invoice processing performance, coordinating with international PTP leads when appropriate to bring processes within performance standards

Global Strategy and Standardization

  • Directly responsible for all Processing documentation, SOPs, and Reference Guides related to Domestic (US) invoice processing, including documentation available to both internal and external customers and DWSS personnel.
  • Indirectly responsible for global processing documentation, SOPs, and Reference Guides related to all invoice processing supported by DWSS Procure to Pay Organization.
  • Makes recommendations to senior leadership, including DWSS Executive leadership, regarding changes required to DWSS PTP processing guidelines and rules to ensure optimal compliance and efficiency
  • Monitors invoice processing standards and regulatory requirements for all markets serviced by DWSS to ensure proactive response to changing global markets and environments

Project Management/Continuous Improvement

  • Serves as a primary project manager on projects impacting invoice processing procedures, tools, systems, and standards for projects in a variety of markets, both internationally and domestically.
  • Serves as part of a project team on projects with scopes extending beyond that of invoice processing, ensuring invoice processing requirements are met and opportunities for process or performance improvement are exploited to realize gains in efficiency and compliance and/or reductions in processing cost per invoice

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years management experience
  • 2+ years experience in Accounts Payable, Banking, Accounting or Finance
  • Experience in a global, high volume transactional environment
  • Experience with OCR and/or artificial intelligence technologies
  • Project Management experience
  • Expert knowledge of SAP Finance modules and transaction code executions
  • Demonstrated computer expertise within Excel
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with global stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities, and perform job responsibilities accurately with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • High level energy, self-direction and motivation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years management experience
  • 4+ years experience in Accounts Payable, Banking, Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years Project Management experience
  • Experience as a technology product owner
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Higher
  • PMP
  • CPA
  • 4+ years prior management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or associated coursework or experience in these fields

Preferred Education

  • Master’s degree and equivalent work experience
  • Accounting, Business Administration, Finance
