Job Description

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for all Accounts Payable related transactions for branches in a centralized Accounts Payable system. This position will be responsible for reviewing, verifying, analyzing, coding and assigning all Accounts Payable invoices. This position will interface with Project Managers and Senior management to ensure accurate and timely processing and coding of all vendor expenses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : (“Incidental” job duties may be included but must be indicated. Other essential and incidental job duties may be assigned.)

• Full cycle Accounts Payable management
• Verify and reconcile all vendor and subcontractor invoices
• Generate proper General Ledger coding on all incoming invoices
• Analyze and assign invoices to the proper projects and cost centers
• Obtain proper verification and approvals of invoices
• Interface with Project Managers and Senior Management in verifying and reviewing expenses
• Prepare Accounts Payable related month end journal entries and accruals
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE (Include necessary licenses and specialized training.)

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Three to five years prior experience in the accounting area.
• Experience working in a job costing and multi-branch environment strongly preferred
• Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP) preferred
• Advanced Computer skills and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with JD Edwards or other large automated accounting system a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
