POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Analyst position will be responsible for all accounting aspects related to reconciling account balances, bank statements, and helping maintain accuracy and completeness of the general ledger. The position will coordinate data flow between multiple departments, to ensure reporting accuracy, and also be a key contributor to month end close procedures including, journal entries, internal/external audit support, supporting schedules, and other responsibilities as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Execute Monthly deliverables associated with period end close in compliance with GAAP.
Collaborate with cross functional teams on reporting timeliness for accurate posting of accruals, prepaids, and other financial entries as necessary.
Assist in the review of P&L activity to determine completeness prior to close day 3.
Perform general ledger reconciliation and account analysis including reconciling subledger balances to the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Assist in forecasting, and financial trends reporting to management monthly and adhoc reporting related to specific AR activities.
Assist internal and external auditors with monthly, quarterly and/or annual reviews and provide support documentation where applicable.
Facilitate the enhancement of procedures to drive improvements, and efficiencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
0-2+ years relevant experience.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, advanced ability with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
Strong written/verbal communication, including presentation skills. Comfortable discussing and explaining complex concepts to audiences with varying levels of knowledge of the subject.
Ability to take ownership and deliver results; Initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.
