Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sales Account Manager for our manufacturing facilities in the Midwest region supporting Eastern Missouri and Southwestern Illinois. Position is residence based with preferred location in St. Louis.
Looking for a professional with a positive attitude and focus on innovation to lead all facets of the sales process from prospecting, preparing, and presenting proposals to contract and pricing negotiations needed to secure new business.
Responsibilities also include ensuring customer retention through an enhanced relationship focused on having an external focus by proactive account management resulting in flawless operation and execution. We are looking for a person who demonstrates a passion to be the best in the industry.
This Sales Account Manager position is responsible for selling our portfolio of liquid and bulk products into a variety of different markets including but not limited to Food/Beverage, Metals, Pharmaceuticals, and Chemicals.
Responsibilities include:
1. Existing Customer Account Management-Managing Customer Relationships, Customer Value Creation, Wallet Share Growth, Profit Management.
2. New Business Development - Selling portfolio of Product, Equipment and Services to amenable Market, including New to Market and Competitive Account Prospects. Strong emphasis on basic prospecting (high rate of daily call activity), and expeditious Direct Marketing follow up.
3. Interface with Product Manager and the broader customer facing organization
4. Success in this position requires a self-starter with good time management and organization skills
5. Adept at working in a matrixed organization and to collaborate with other sales and marketing professionals within the North region and Air Products’ broader organization
3. Some overnight travel will be expected.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-year college degree in business or engineering, or equivalent experience with strong technical aptitude.
- 3-4 years of successfully demonstrated sales experience.
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Presentation skills
-Highly motivated with ability to work and prioritize independently
- Industrial gas experience a plus
- Work well in a collaborative dynamic team environment, with a high energy level.
