High-visibility position reporting directly to Sales Director that will be responsible for developing, expanding, managing, and sustaining heavy duty aftermarket part sales into the aftermarket automotive channel. Achieve status of trusted business partner at both corporate and store locations to drive sales growth. Leverage Meritor’s breadth of product and value add to secure position as primary supplier for heavy and medium duty products to key accounts. Create and conduct tailored product and sales training on a per customer basis to ensure success with both new program launches and existing business. Coordinate and communicate sales efforts and needs within the team, Meritor leadership, and other customer facing departments within Meritor. This role is instrumental for the overall success of the aftermarket sales team.
Job Responsibilities:
•Manage responsibilities with a stone-cold-killer mentality to profitably grow the aftermarket business within the automotive channel
•Gain direct access to the buying influences by creating, managing, and maintaining key relationships
•Develop, execute, and manage sales plans that include revenue requirements, customer commitments
•Quickly break down barriers to entry to ensure progress is consistently and steadily made
•Identify and focus on retail jobbers that possess a significant market presence
•Identify and work opportunities to successfully acquire business within municipalities that service heavy and/or medium duty applications
•Build and maintain an excellent customer perception as being the subject matter expert for medium and heavy-duty parts
•Engage with cross-functional teams such as product, marketing, technical, and training to ensure customer needs are met
•Establish strong presence with leadership by presenting up-to-date account/market intel
•Coordinate with Meritor DSMs to help surface opportunities and execute plans to drive results at the key customers
QUALIFICATIONS
•5+ years’ experience of Aftermarket Parts selling into both corporate and retail locations for companies such as NAPA, Advanced Auto, Carquest, O’Reily’s
•Fortitude to gain access to key decision makers and buying influences at retail and corporate locations
•Excellent relationship building skills
•Aptitude for heavy duty product and technical sales
•CRM tools experience (Salesforce, preferred)
•Excellent written & verbal communication skills
•Excellent problem-solving skills to develop sales strategies
•Excellent presentation skills to both small and large audiences
•Critical thinking & negotiation skills
•Bachelor’s degree
•Ability to travel 75% of the time
