Job Description
A Selection Supervisor is responsible for the cost efficient day-to-day operation and supervision of the Gordon Food Service (GFS) selection staff. Oversees and maintains high quality and accuracy standards of customer orders. Manages production and workflow schedules with a focus on exceptional customer service. Mentors, motivates, and develops staff.
People Leadership:
- Interviews, hires and on-boards new employees.
- Displays Servant Leadership by building and maintaining relationships with employees.
- Focuses on training to enable employees to do their jobs with excellence.
- Develops individuals and acts as a role model and resource to them.
- Motivates individuals and drives results to achieve High Performance Distribution metrics.
- Maintains a safety culture; ensuring staff are properly trained and adhere to the policies outlined in the safety handbook.
- Conducts departmental and pre-shift meetings to keep the team informed and engaged.
- Sets individual and team goals and provides coaching and support to assist the team in attaining goals.
- Prepares weekly performance scores for individual employees; addresses performance gaps with a combination of coaching, performance management and discipline, including termination where appropriate.
Operational Excellence:
- Monitor employee’s incentive pay (Warehouse Comp System) and time and attendance system to make necessary adjustments as appropriate.
- Inspects workload stickers and paperwork for accuracy and quality.
Our requirements for the role:
- 2 years of previous warehouse/selection experience required
- 1 year previous leadership experience preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse technology, including time/attendance systems, radio frequency guns, hand held communication radios, and conveyor equipment
- Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email and internet software applications.
