 Technical Assembly Operator

Attwood Corporation, a Brunswick Company, is the world\'s leading manufacturer of marine accessories for the boating industry, including a wide range of seating, hardware, fuel systems, navigational lighting, pumps, and other electro-mechanical components.

We currently have opportunities for highly motivated, team players with mechanical/electrical aptitude as Technical Assembly Operators on 1st shift, to join our Lowell, MI team.

Candidate will be required to rotate to different stations as needed, use various types of assembly and inline testing equipment, maintain a safe and clean work area, and keep production records using paper / computers.

Specific responsibilities for this position will include:

• Set up machinery ensuring all production materials are available
• Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed
• Physical movement of parts up to 50 lbs and use of lift assist for parts over 50 lbs
• Use of torque guns and other calibrated equipment
• Interaction with PLCs to ensure products are built correctly
• Visually inspect production run and document results
• Determine and report malfunctions to appropriate parties
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures
• Participation in departmental improvement projects
• Ability to train others

Qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• 1-3 year of manufacturing or technical assembly experience.
• Prefer formal building/technical/mechanical education
• Ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
• The position will require physical strength, agility, dexterity and standing for extended periods
• Prefer experience in environments with Lean. Six Sigma and 5S
